I wasn't much in the mood for writing today, so decided to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving instead. The other day while cleaning out some files I came across this poem Julia wrote a long time ago:
Today is Thanksgiving Day
Hurray! Today is Thanksgiving day!
I help my mom make the pudding,
And I know that my friends are coming
Because today is Thanksgiving.
Hurray! Today is Thanksgiving day!
My mom goes to get the Turkey,
And I don't know why I feel so happy!
I guess it's because of all that pie,
But maybe that really isn't why.
Hurray! Today is Thanksgiving day!
Now it's time to eat,
I show my friends their seat. After eating we can play,
Hurray! Today is Thanksgiving day.
When I asked if I could post it, Julia reminded me to take time to know the true story of the "First Thanksgiving" and care about how it affects Native Americans. To learn more click here.
