Hello friends and other readers,

I haven't posted in awhile and am having trouble deciding if I should continue or not.

However, I have a pile of books on my desk which I can't put away without posting something about them. I don't know why, maybe it's an obsession, but I just can't. So I'll post them before deciding.

But first, here is why I may stop:

Reason 1 Each post takes too long because I have to make sure it sounds readable and try to avoid all errors, add italics, look up quotes, find images, reread, redo, all that stuff. It's fun but takes time. Thinking of a title takes time, too. I had some ideas for today's after-a-long-absence post :

Hello, friends

Hello from across time

As time goes by

OR, my usual overly cutesy rhymsey-type titles:

To post or not to post?

Post problems

Problematic posts

Post pause

But it was taking too long. Hence, Untitled.

Reason 2 It's taking me too long to think of reason two. So I just won't do it.

Reason 3 I no longer go to my friend Jo's house once a week so I don't have a dedicated time to do posts. At Jo's (an older woman who is now gone), I could help her out AND do my post, it was a mutually beneficial situation. And I had to go every week because she was counting on me. But now, at home, there is ALWAYS something else to do. Things like:

Do laundry, do admin stuff, make doctor appointments, go to doctor appointments, text friends, see friends, clean the floor, water the plants, help whoever is around, watch series, walk, exercise, get old and exercise more, cook, eat, sleep, forget to exercise, mope around, get in a good mood, get in a bad mood, make to-do lists which include "do a post" then regularly do everything on list except post, etc.

Reason 4 I got a grandson. That was around the same time I stopped going to Jo's, but I think it had its own effect too. Instead of posting, I started doing things like modifying words to songs so I could sing to him. Here's one based on a song from Oliver, with only a few changes to avoid him learning about Fisticuffs and other violence too soon!

The problem is I don't know the words by heart, so I've only sung it to him once, in a voicemail! Just call me Miss Rachel. (I learned about this super-famous youtube Mom and teacher yesterday. She was speaking up for Palestinian kids in an interview with independent news journalist Mehdi Hasan.)

Reason 5 Not many people read my blog, and many who do prefer non-book posts. NOT A GOOD REASON! I do it for myself and the people who do read it, mostly friends, are worth a million followers!

So anyway, that's my dilemma: Do I want to keep or quit posting?

I'll decide after posting this remaining pile on my desk. I'll start as soon as I check my laundry!

I vote keep posting when you want to. Don’t worry about making it perfect. In fact, maybe decide from the beginning that it will be imperfect. It might be easier and better.

OK my friend, I'll try to do that, a post with no changes. I don't think it'll be better but let's see. I'll take it as a challenge. And maybe it will be better! It could actually be interesting to see the difference between the two maybe. Sort of an editing example post... Thanks for the idea! Julia had another idea: write a story about my relationship with Jo. It's fun to get some ideas! Also, Christine voted that I should only keep posting if it gives me joy to do it and if not, move on to another project. So those are the three ideas so far.
